About Q
About QuencieMy career as a Celebrity interviewer began in 1995 on the campus of Clark Atlanta Univeristy. I did my first TV interview with platinum-selling So So Def recording artist, Da Brat for a show called Premiere TV. After that interview, I never looked back. I went on to create a 30-minute weekly music and entertainment TV show entitled, Studio Q. My guests ranged from Grammy award-winning gospel great Kirk Franklin, to Academy award-nominated actor Danny Glover. I also wrote a column for the Atlanta Voice newspaper entitled, "Qs Corner," and was a freelance writer for The State Journal Register in Springfield, IL. Each job provided me so many great moments with celebrities that I penned them all in my first book, entitled, Celebrity Encounters. My most memorable celebrity encounter came a month before completing my Masters degree, from the University of Illinois. It was a dream-come-true interview with my favorite singer and childhood idol, Whitney Houston, on MTV's show FANatic. It was the best graduation gift I could have ever received. According to co-creator and executive producer of FANatic, Ed Connelly Jr., the Whitney Houston interview was their highest rated show ever. When asked about my interview performance, his response was: "Honestly, I think she was one, if not the best interviewers, we've ever had." I still can't believe I was able to be myself in my dream moment with Whitney. It ranks #1 among all my Celebrity Encounters.In order to realize my dream of having my own national syndicated talk show, I moved to Hollywood. I utilized skills I developed on Premiere TV and Studio Q to produce for networks like NBC, CBS, FOX, MTV, BET, and for TV shows like The Tyra Banks Show and Divorce Court. Currently, I host Studio Q TV and Studio Q Radio featured right here on Quencie.com.
